Each daily reflection provides meditation tips for beginners, as well as suggestions for advanced students.

The Daily Practices are simple, yet profound…
Each daily practice begins with a quote from a variety of historical peace keepers such as Gandhi, John Lennon, priests, rabbis…persons from all cultures and traditions. The quotes introduce an idea, which are then followed by a short teaching about that day’s practice. The next page provides that day’s prayer, meditation, or mantra.
Your peace meditation practice may take as little time as 2 minutes, however; advanced practitioners may stay in the meditation for 20 minutes or longer.
Sample Daily Meditation
Gandhi fully understood the Laws of the Universe, and for this reason he knew that acts of violence would only breed more violence.
When others condemn us, or display some other form of un-kindness, it makes logical sense to protect oneself. The most difficult practice is that of equanimity, or maintaining a state of peace, no matter what the outside world brings our way.
This practice requires us to re-visit each of our inner beliefs and surrender those beliefs to our state of un-wavering inner peace. Attaining and maintaining a state of equanimity requires a life-long commitment to its practice. You will be introduced to it in today’s meditation.
Let us begin by allowing peace to arise fully within.
THE DAILY PRACTICE
BREATHING MANTRA MEDITATION
Come into a comfortable sitting or reclined position.
Close your eyes and allow stillness to occur. Focus on observing your inhale and exhale for 5 full breath cycles.
As you obtain stillness and are comfortable with it, begin the breath mantra meditation below.
“I breathe in Peace.”
Imagine peace filling you with each breath you take.
“I exhale Peace to All.”
Imagine peace exiting your nostrils, and beginning to spread out into the world. Allow your Mind’s Eye to guide you as you offer this gift to all peoples, and all beings.
Try to maintain this breathing mantra meditation for at least 10-15 minutes.
If it helps, you may wish to enjoy reading some inspirational texts just before and just after your meditation practice.
