WOMEN'S SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
Wednesday Evenings 5-6:30 pm
Wisdom Teachings | Discussions | Meditations
from the Bhagavad Gita Chapters 11-18
The highest form of meditation comes when a person not only can free themselves from selfish action, but also focus entirely on the divine in their actions for mind purification and spiritual wellness.
All the qualities of human beings - wisdom, understanding, forgiveness, pleasure, pain -- all come from God and flow through us as Him. He bore the earth and all its natural laws from his own mind.
Krishna refers to the body as "a field," and says it is made up of the five senses, as well as the organs of action, the mind, and the "undifferentiated energy from which all these evolved." It is within the body that one finds the source of desire, aversion, pleasure, pain, intelligence, and will. But the truly free understand this "field," and find the separation between the body and soul.

The Cosmic Vision and The Way of Love
The chapter when Krishna reveals himself as a cosmic vision is "the most exalted chapter of the entire Gita...Krishna is the true Self of every being, as well as the most glorious of every sphere on Earth and in the Heavens.
The concept of love, finally, is presented as a two-way relationship.
The Field and the Knower and Forces of Evolution
Krishna makes a clear distinction between the body and the soul -- with the body known as the 'field,' and the soul a product of the greater Self.
Krishna repeatedly comes back to the idea of the grand Self or Brahman -- the eternal lord which is beyond all things immediately spiritual or physical.
The Supreme Self and Two Paths
The Supreme Self, according to Krishna is like an "immutable ashvattha tree," with its roots binding us to the action of the world, and the limbs nourished by the gunas.
The two paths constantly compete with each other until we learn to master the mind and rise above Ego and all of ITs limitations.
The Power of Faith and Freedom by Renunciation
In order to reach Self-Realization, a yogi must learn to master the body, the means, the ego, the performance of service, and the divine will. This is achieved through practicing Awareness and being devoted to Meditation.
GITA MEDITATION TRAINING
The last two sessions will provide ancient techniques for meditation according to the Yoga Sciences.
Through correct body posture and correct use of breath it is easier to find comfort and ease while settling the mind.
BHAKTI MEDITATION TRAINING
We will expand upon last week's practice and focus on posture, prana, mudra, and mantra to obtain one-pointed concentration in devotion.
Learn how to merge into oneness wiht your Higher Self... aka: Atman.
